Fordham was a fording place over the river Snail, the source of which is at nearby Snailwell and eventually becomes the Soham Lode. King James 1st hunted hares in the fields at Fordham and the village boasts its own rural poet, James Withers,who died in 1892.

From A14:

From A14 leave at junction 37 Newmarket/Ely and take A142 towards Ely. At second roundabout take second exit towards Fordham. Stay on road through traffic calming and into 40 mph sector,after 1/4 mile turn right into Murfitts Lane,at end turn right into Carter Street and Queensberry is on the left hand side directly after Moor Road.
